Tithe na nÓg ‘supporting young people to secure and establish sustainable accommodation'.

Tithe na nÓg works with young people (under 25 years) who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  A key part of project work is supporting young people to be realisitic about their budget and their readiness for independant living. Support is given to clarify the best options for the young person given the full details of their situation, their experience and their skills. The project can support young people in need, through the process of sourcing and securing suitable accommodation, usually from the rental market. In some cases Tithe na nÓg will support young people to secure Sociall Wellfare benefits, inlcuding rent allowance. Training and support with indepedant living skills i.e. cooking, cleaning, shopping etc., is provided as the young person prepares for, or ajusts to independant living. Tithe na nÓg supports young people to  establish links in their new community, including local support services and local social network opportunities. Overall, Tithe na nÓg aims to ensure under 25 years olds are in accomadation that is safe, appropriate and stable, for as long as they need it.

Project services are available during office hours, Monday to Friday. An 'out of hours' telephone service is provided up to 8pm, Monday to Thursday inclusive. The project can work intensley with a young person for an inital period, meeting up to three times each week. It is expected support will not be required for longer then six months, however, this is flexible depending on the needs of the young person. Tithe na nÓg services can be delivered at various venues depending on what is most appropriate. To access the service, young people can contact the project direct and an appointment will be set up. Alternatively the young person can be referred to Tithe na nÓg by other agencies using the referral form. Further information about the projects aims, objectives and approach are available using the link provided.
